Glass & mirrors

Right dimensions before the glass is cut.

In glazing, a wrong dimension cannot be recovered: the glass is gone. Koventor secures the customer's enquiry before the cut, checking what is missing and preparing a traceable quote, edgework included.

Demo with no account, fictional prices: nothing reaches a workshop.

What your customers actually send

Dimensions measured on site and sent by message, a sketch of a recess or a splashback, a photo of an opening with measurements, sometimes an architect's drawing for a balustrade.

None of these formats is a production file. They are nevertheless what you have to price from, and that is exactly where Koventor starts.

What the pricing has to produce

The parameters specific to your trade, the ones that decide whether a price holds.

01

The glass product

Clear or low-iron float, toughened, laminated, acid-etched, back-painted, mirror: each has its price per square metre, its lead time and its installation constraints.

02

Thickness and area

From 4 to 19 millimetres depending on use. Thickness does not only change the material price: it decides what edgework is possible and what the piece weighs, so it decides the installation.

03

Edgework

Arrised, flat ground, polished, bevelled. On a wall mirror it is often the only line the customer actually looks at and compares.

04

Holes, notches and corners

Holes for fixing brackets, notches for a socket, radiused corners. On toughened glass everything must be done before tempering, which makes an omission irreversible.

What actually bites, and what a generic rate card ignores

After tempering, nothing can be changed

One forgotten hole in a toughened pane and the whole piece is remade. The tool's job is to ask every question beforehand, not to produce a quick price.

Customer dimensions are not installation dimensions

A customer measures the opening, not the glass. The installation clearance follows from the fixing type, and it is workshop knowledge the pricing has to apply automatically.

Transport is part of the price

A large pane in a heavy thickness does not ship like a bathroom mirror. Ignoring that line on the quote means paying it yourself.

4,810 searches a month

“custom glass cutting” alone is searched 3,600 times a month in the United States, “glass cut to size” 720 and “mirror cut to size” 480. This is the largest end-customer demand of the five trades, and it is the trade where a wrong dimension costs the most.

Common questions

Customers often get their measurements wrong. What then?

The tool cannot measure for them, but it can refuse ambiguity: ask whether the dimension is the opening or the finished glass, require both dimensions, flag a value outside standards. That already removes most of the errors.

Does it handle toughened and laminated?

Yes, they are product parameters with their own rules: available thicknesses, possible edgework, tempering lead times. Your workshop's logic is reproduced, not replaced by a generic rate card.

I do a lot of emergency work

Then the gain is immediate: a customer who gets an indicative price within the hour does not call three competitors. The final quote stays yours, after checking.
